Maize is the backbone of food security in East and Central Africa, and it is the crop on which Imena Commodities has built its production base. We have committed more than 1,000 hectares to maize for the current programme, with mechanised land preparation, precision planting and professional post-harvest handling from cleaning and drying through to storage and delivery.
Maize grown in Uganda feeds markets in South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Rwanda and the eastern DR Congo, where demand consistently outstrips supply. Our post-harvest capability, cleaning, drying, storage and customer delivery, allows us to meet buyer specifications for moisture content and grain quality.
