Why Maize

The case for this crop

  • Regional staple with deep, reliable demand from millers, traders and institutional buyers
  • Two growing seasons per year in Uganda allow two harvests from the same land annually
  • Yield planning of 3 to 4 tons per hectare under our mechanised programme
  • Anchor crop for our rotation with soya, improving soil health season on season
The Market

Where it goes

Maize grown in Uganda feeds markets in South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Rwanda and the eastern DR Congo, where demand consistently outstrips supply. Our post-harvest capability, cleaning, drying, storage and customer delivery, allows us to meet buyer specifications for moisture content and grain quality.
